“O Lord, I have heard Your speech and was afraid; O Lord, revive Your work in the midst of the years! In the midst of the years make it known….”
It is 1914; the world is about to plunge into WW1. 16 million will die from countries all over the world. That same year, Bessie Porter Head will write a hymn that reflects another dimension. Her words ring true for us today as they did then.
“O Breathe of Life, come sweeping through us,
Revive Thy church with life and power,
O, Breathe of Life, come cleanse, renew us,
And fit Thy church to meet this hour.”
In the midst of the years (our current world), invite God to revive us, His church. It starts with you and me.
